The reference bottle for this Private Stock Whiskey comes from a private collection of pre-Prohibition whiskies from the D.C. area. The coat of arms on the label reads “Volo ergo possum,” meaning “I will, therefore I can.” Charles H. Clark, the bottler listed on the label, appears as a saloon keeper in the 1900 U.S. Census.
