This piece features a pre-Prohibition whiskey made by Leo Oedekoven, a well-known Washington, D.C. businessman of the early 1900s. Oedekoven operated several establishments near 13th and New York Avenue, including Hotel Evelyn and a bar on 7th Street. This particular whiskey is listed in the 1903 city business directory, claiming to be a medicinal rye.
