The reference bottle for this North Codorus Whiskey comes from a private collection. It was produced by Goldsborough Co., a company that originated in Baltimore before expanding operations near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, after acquiring the Highspire Distillery from the Wilson family. Given their location, it is presumed this brand was named after the area near Codorus State Park. Charles G. McChesney is listed in several late 1800s business directories as a grocery clerk at 1636 9th street, where this bottle was sold. The label itself reflects the bottles’s layered story: it features Atlas, a nod to Wilson’s flagship brand, along with both names Wilson and Goldsborough, and was printed by A. Hoen & Co, a prominent Baltimore lithographer, whose building still stands today.
