This piece features an antique bottle of I. W. Harper whiskey, a brand still available today, thanks to its ability to sell “medicinal” whiskey during Prohibition. While the exact year of this bottle is unknown, certain features help narrow the range. The absence of a Pure Food and Drugs Act notice on the label suggests it predates 1906, and the distillery listed, Pleasure Ridge Park, was purchased by the founders of I. W. Harper, the Bernheim brothers,  in 1896.
