This piece features a pre-Prohibition whiskey from Washington, D.C. made by well-known liquor dealer Christian Xander. Several city business directories list Xander at the Seventh Street address on the label, up until 1915. The absence of the 1906 Pure Food and Drugs Act compliance note on the label indicates the bottle likely predates that year.
