This piece features a pre-Prohibition whiskey called Astor Hotel, from Washington, D.C. The slight purple hue of the reference bottle indicates it predates World War I, and the absence of a Pure Food and Drug Act notice suggests it was produced before 1906. It is unclear whether this Astor Hotel was connected to the famous one in New York City. Late 1800s and early 1900s newspaper articles reference the 921 9th Street address for housing, though they do not indicate it operated as a hotel.
